How to use a Produplicator CD/DVD Duplicator

 

CD/DVD Duplicators, which are produced by Produplicator, are a fairly new technology developed to give users an inexpensive solution to quantity duplication of CD and DVD disks. It is a complete standalone system which does not require a computer or any soft-wares to operate. Disc duplication equipment consists of 3 major components. One source drive, multiple target drives and a duplication controller card.

-The source drive is where the original disks are inserted. 
-The Target drive is where the blank media are put in. 
-The Controller card is the heart and brain of the drive that controls the data flow between the source and the target drives.

 

The operation is as simple as just pressing a button. Even the advanced options can be easily accessed with few button pushing. 
The provided manual will be more than sufficient for even the not-so-savvy users to access it's entire functions. 

 

Before you use the cd/dvd duplicator make sure that the disc that you are copying is a non-copyright protected disc, because these duplicators will not copy a protected disc. Once you have confirmed that the master disc that you are copying is non-copy protected then you may proceed on duplicating this disc.

There’s only two steps on how to copy the disc. First is to place the master disc on the source drive which is the very top drive. Second is to press ENT button and let it do it’s job.

The CD duplicators are capable of duplicating CDs at a rate of 2-5 min per session. The DVD discs are duplicated at 8-12min (at 8x speed) 6-7 1/2min (at 16x speed) per session. The speed of duplication varies depending on the media used, size of original, and options you choose.

Produplicator's Smart USB Connection

Produplicator offers a true PC connection for a dedicated standalone duplicator. In fact, no other controllers available can offer a way to connect a standalone duplicator to a PC whereby any files can be transferred from the PC to the duplicator’s HDD for greater convenience and reliability. Produplicator introduced the new smart USB connection.

What are the benefits of smart USB? Firstly, smart USB does not have to translate data between the interface and the computer. That means that since the user is connecting a USB cable from a PC to a SATA connected drive, it will provide a true and more stable data transfer as opposed to connecting a SATA device like the HDD or optical drive to a PC through an alternate connection like USB or such. Secondly, because of this, smart USB has a much faster data transfer rate allowing files to be sent from the PC to the duplicator at speeds as high as 480Mb/sec. This greatly decreases the amount of time needed to download a file to the duplicator thus increasing the duplication production.

So if you’re truly interested in improving your throughput and decreasing the idle time needed to create and prepare a master, using a smart USB connection on your future CD DVD duplicators or other compatible produplicator duplicator would be your best option.
